Australia funds disabled rights projects

Oceania - 12/06/2012

Australia will give $7.5 million to projects that improve the rights of people with disabilities in developing countries. Of this, $4.5 million will be given to the Pacific Disability Forum, Foreign Minister Bob Carr said on Wednesday. The forum is the regional umbrella network of disabled persons' organisations and helps bring people with disabilities together so they have a stronger voice in underlining their rights to governments.
