Americans win third straight at women's worlds
The United States ran its record to 3-0-0 on Tuesday at the IIHF women’s world hockey championship with an 11-0 win over Finland. Both the Americans and the Canadians (2-1) have secured berths in the semifinals. Noora Raty, the Finns’ No. 1 goaltender, nursing an injury suffered in a celebratory pileup after she led Minnesota to the NCAA title last month, and Isabella Portnoj was given the start. She kept the score close at 2-0 in the first period but the Americans scored four goals in the first 5:50 of the second period and she was replaced by Meeri Raisanen.
